Question for Reflection: Honoring Our Fallen Angels

There are people in our lives whose impact never fades — even after they are gone. They are the ones who stood in harm’s way so others could live in safety, freedom, and peace. We often call them fallen angels, not because they were perfect, but because they gave more than most are ever asked to give.

Today, we invite you to pause and reflect.

Do you have a fallen angel in your life that you would like us to honor?

This may be someone who served in the military, a firefighter who ran toward danger, a member of a three-letter agency who worked quietly behind the scenes, an EMS professional who answered the call at all hours, or a POW who endured unimaginable hardship. Their titles may differ, but their courage and sacrifice unite them.

Why We Remember

Stories matter. Names matter. Remembering ensures that these lives are not reduced to statistics or headlines. When we share their stories, we keep their legacy alive — in our hearts, our families, and our communities.

Your fallen angel may have:

Served honorably and never made it home

Passed away after years of service protecting others

Lived with unseen wounds long after their service ended

Been a quiet hero whose sacrifice was rarely spoken about

Every story deserves to be told.

Share Their Story

If you feel comfortable, we invite you to share:

Their name

Their role or service

A memory, lesson, or moment that defines who they were

What they meant to you and others

There is no right or wrong way to honor them. A few words or a full story — all are welcome.

We will treat every shared story with respect, dignity, and gratitude. This space exists to honor sacrifice, foster remembrance, and remind us that behind every uniform was a human being deeply loved.

Let us never forget those who gave everything.

Who is the fallen angel you carry with you?
